HEILONGJIANG, August 25, China.org.cn -- A Siberian tiger has given birth to four cubs in the Longsha Zoological and Botanical Gardens in Qiqihar City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Qqhrnews.com reported.

It is the first time that quadruplets have been successfully bred in the zoo. The Siberian tiger mother and four newborn cubs are healthy, zoo officials said.

LANZHOU, August 21, Xinhua -- A villager in northwest China's Longnan City, Gansu Province has been compensated 400,000 yuan (about 62,500 U.S.dollars) after being bitten by a giant panda.

On March 1, 2014, Guan Quanzhi, 68, of Liziba village in Bikou Township, was bitten while watching and chasing a wild giant panda which appeared in the village, according to the Wen County court.

FUJIAN, August 17, China.org.cn -- Located in Shuinan village, the "Feng Shui Forest" consists of nearly 1,000 rare nanmu trees of various size. It is a national key ecological forest protected areas. The nanmu trees were first planted in Song Dynasty more than 1,000 years ago.
