SICHUAN, November 9 -- According to National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, the number of captive Giant Pandas worldwide reaches 548. The statistics was released recently at International Conference for the Giant Panda Conservation and Breeding and 2018 Annual Conference of the Chinese Committee of Giant Panda Breeding Techniques held in Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Till now, China has been cooperating with 17 countries and 22 zoos to conduct Giant Panda protection research projects, and 58 Giant Pandas joined in the projects.

DUBAI, October 24 -- The 13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP13) opened in Dubai on 22 October 2018 and lasts till October 29. The theme of this conference is “Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future”. Thousands of participants from some 170 economies and regions and over 100 NGOs attended the conference. Li Chunliang, Deputy Administrator of National Forestry and Grassland Administration attended the opening ceremony.
