State Forestry Administration and General Administration of Customs jointly held “Confiscated Ivory Destruction Activity” on January 6, 2014, so as to destroy totally 6.1 tons of confiscated ivories and their products. Nearly 300 representatives from more than 10 countries, important international organizations and domestic institutions witnessed the feat on the spot. This activity is conducive to further consolidating the Chinese government’s firm stand against ivory smuggling and other illegal trades of wildlife, building a good image of a responsible great country and winning worldwide acclaims from the international community.
