ENGLAND,Oct.16,Xinhua - The Falkland Islands were awarded as the "Best Destination of Wildlife and Nature" of the "Travel Agents Choice Awards", organized by the British "Selling Travel Magazine". Tourism represents close to the 90 percent of the islands economy. In recent years, the islands received between 40 and 60 thousand passengers annually, representing an economic spill of approximately 12 millions U.S. Dollars, according to the local press.
