SICHUAN, October 28 -- China now has 41 global goeparks, accounting for 1/4 of the world total, according to the 2020 Annual Conference of China UNESCO Geoparks, which was held in Sichuan Province on October 27, 2020.

Since China launched a campaign to set up geological parks in 2000, more than 600 have sprung up nationwide, making China ranking top in the number and growth of geological parks in the world for years, according to Chinadaily.
