BEIJING, July 15 -- Aiming at ecological conservation and restoration, Beijing released the Low Mountain Area Protection Plan (2017-2035) recently. This is also the first time for China to develop protection plan for low mountain areas. The general layout in the plan covers six ecological areas, including forest ecological preservation area, vegetation restoration area on fragmentation forest land and bare land suitable for reforestation, restoration area of abandoned mines, soil and water conservation area, disaster vulnerable area and habitat restoration area. The plan is also expected to protect and promote the transitional and specialized village culture through Yongdinghe cultural belt and Great Wall Cultural belt in Western Mountain of Beijing, as well as being strict to access any infrastructural development.
