BEIJING, December 19 -- Liu Dongsheng, Deputy Administrator of National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China met with Julie Collins, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries of New Zealand in Beijing on December 17, 2019. They reviewed the long-term friendly forestry cooperation between the two economies, as well as the development of timber and forest product trade and investment. They also exchanged on issues including timber production, processing, importing and exporting pattern. Furthermore, they agreed to conduct exchanges and communication on timber processing trade, management and utilization of Pinus radiata plantation, pest control, timber engineering, bamboo industry, and wood furniture. They also agreed to conduct policy dialogue and information sharing on forestry bio-economy, forest response to climate change and carbon counting.
