HANOI, September 12 -- Zhang Jianlong, Administrator of National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China met with Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MARD) on September 12, 2019 in Hanoi. The bilateral parts agreed to establish China-Vietnam forestry working group based on the Forestry Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2016, which aims to strengthen bilateral information sharing, promote personnel exchanges and conduct pragmatic cooperation.

On the same day, the first China-Vietnam forestry working group meeting was held. And both parts agreed to cooperate in the priority areas of forestry personnel development, wildlife protection, forest tourism and forest therapy. At the meeting, two agreements were signed, i.e., forestry cooperation agreement signed between International Center for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR) and Vietnamese Academy of Forest Science (VAFS), and project cooperation project signed between Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (AFPNet) and Forestry Inventory and Planning Institute (FIPI).
