INNER MONGOLIA, July 31 -- After years of protection, the natural grassland area rate in Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached to 44% now from 30% in 1950s. It covers 22% of China’s total grassland area, and 74% of the region’s land area.

The region plans to balance grass protection and livestock by 2020, rehabilitate ecological function of grassland to the best level of 1980s by 2035, and realize a healthy, diversified grass ecosystem with harmonious coexistence of human, grass, livestock and beautiful scenery by 2050.
