BEIJING, February 6 -- During the past five years, a total of 89,333 hectares of forest were added in Beijing, the forest coverage increased to 43% from 38.6%.

Deng Naiping, Beijing Gardening and Greening Bureau, said that the city would put more efforts in projects in 2018, including expanding wetlands, returning farmlands to forests, and restoring the ecosystems of abandoned mining mountains.
