BEIJING, January 30 -- Zhang Jianlong, Administrator of State Forestry Administration of China met with Martha Rojas Urrego, Secretary General of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in Beijing on January 29, 2018.

Mr. Zhang introduced China’s main efforts and progress on wetland protection, and he also expressed that China would continue to fulfil the obligation of contracting party of the Convention, learn experience and practice of other economies on wetland protection, he hopes the Secretary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands further support China in this field.

Ms. Martha Rojas Urrego highly appraised China’s accomplishment on wetland protection, and she hopes that China would play its leading role on wetland protection and share the experience with other economies. Meanwhile, she expressed her wishes to further strengthen cooperation with China on exploring ways to increase the international society and governments’ awareness on the importance of wetland protection.
