Two manchurian tigers (KUZYA) and (USTIN) reintroduced in the Far East Region by Russia entered into China’s Heilongjiang Province, one after another from October 2014, which attracted wide attention from home and abroad. China has adopted effective measures such as appropriate protection, monitoring and safety precautions to ensure the security of human and tigers, avoid the harms to human and tigers, and help two tigers return to Russia safely. This event further intensifies the international cooperation between China and Russia on protection of wild animals like manchurian tigers, verifies the excellent ecological environment of Heilongjiang after years’ efforts in implementing Natural Forest Protection Program, wild animal and plant protection and Nature Reserve Development Program, and demonstrates China’s ability and level of protecting wild animals such as the manchurian tigers.
