HEILONGJIANG, August 25, China.org.cn -- A Siberian tiger has given birth to four cubs in the Longsha Zoological and Botanical Gardens in Qiqihar City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Qqhrnews.com reported.

It is the first time that quadruplets have been successfully bred in the zoo. The Siberian tiger mother and four newborn cubs are healthy, zoo officials said.

Siberian tigers, mostly living in northeast China and Russia, are among the world's 10 most endangered species. Fewer than 500 Siberian tigers are believed to live in the wild worldwide.
