SICHUAN, November 9 -- According to National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, the number of captive Giant Pandas worldwide reaches 548. The statistics was released recently at International Conference for the Giant Panda Conservation and Breeding and 2018 Annual Conference of the Chinese Committee of Giant Panda Breeding Techniques held in Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Till now, China has been cooperating with 17 countries and 22 zoos to conduct Giant Panda protection research projects, and 58 Giant Pandas joined in the projects.
