IRELAND,Jan 21,China.org.cn - Ireland published a climate bill on Tuesday, setting out the national objective of transitioning to "a low carbon, climate resilient and environmentally sustainable economy up to the year 2050".

The bill, titled "Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Bill 2015", gives a solid statutory foundation to the institutional arrangements necessary to enable the country to achieve that national transition objective.

UNITED NATIONS, Jan 17,Xinhua - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon has appointed Janos Pasztor of Hungary as the first-ever Assistant Secretary-General on Climate Change, a UN spokesperson said Friday.

In this capacity, Pasztor will serve as the Senior Adviser of the Secretary-General on climate change until the 21st UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference to be held this December in Paris, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric read the announcement at the daily news briefing.

CHINA, January 8 --According to National Energy Administration, China speeds up to develop clean energy, which makes its energy structure further upgraded. The proportion of non-fossil energy in total primary energy consumption improved from 9.8% to 11.1%, and the proportion of coal decreased from 66% to 64.2%.

PERU,Jan 5,China.org.cn - Developed nations hold the key to mitigating global warming, Bolivian Environment and Water Minister Jose Antonio Zamora has said.

Even if developing nations in Latin America were to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, it would not be effective without the cooperation of developed nations, Zamora told Xinhua in a recent interview.

That was one of the main conclusions Bolivia acquired from the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP20) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held on Dec. 1-14, 2014 in Lima, Peru, to lay the groundwork for a concrete agreement at this year's COP21 in Paris.
