SINGAPORE, April 15, Xinhua -- A female giant has undergone an artificial insemination at a Singapore zoo and if the procedure proved successful the River Safari will become home to a baby panda.

Wildlife Reserves Singapore said in a statement on Friday that a team of vets had performed an artificial insemination on Jia Jia after her failed mating with male partner Kai Kai.

MALAYSIA, April 12 -- Nuan Nuan was born less than 15 months after her parents Fu Wa and Feng Yi arrived in Malaysia on May 21, 2015. The donation of Fu Wa and Feng Yi marks the 40 anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between China and Malaysia. It sets a record of the shortest period of time of successful natural breeding outside China.

The female baby giant panda was born on Aug. 18, 2015 in Malaysia's national zoo. The name "Nuan Nuan" was chosen from the more than 22, 000 suggestions that collected from a naming competition .The name means "warm" in Chinese and stands for Giant Panda’s warm and friendly charterer as well as the two nations’ deep and close relationship.

FOPING, March 29, Xinhua -- A couple of wild Qinling pandas are seen in Daguping Village of Yueba Township in Foping County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, March 28, 2016. There are estimated to be 345 Qinling pandas, a subspecies of the giant panda, living in the wild, according to China's fourth survey of giant pandas from 2011 to 2014.
