BEIJING, November 15, China daily -- Wild ducks are seen at the Yeya (wild duck) Lake Wetland Reserve in the suburb Yanqing district of Beijing, capital of China, Nov 15, 2016. According to a report published by the reserve on Nov 5, 302 kinds species have been recorded in the wetland, the largest such reserve in the capital, seven of which were newly in 2016.

QINGHAI, November 15, China Daily -- There are now more than 1,400 Przewalski's gazelle, a species even more endangered than the giant panda, living around a lake in Northwest China's Qinghai province, its only habitat. According to a survey by Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve, there are 1,464 gazelle living around the lake, about 200 more than the number recorded last year.

HEBEI, October 25 , China Daily -- Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), are to play a role in monitoring the forests of Shiguai district, according to an Oct 24 Baotou Evening News report.

The district formed a special team consisting of 15 forest rangers from the forestry bureau of Shiguai district. The new team will be given a 30-day training course on the correct procedures for operating drones to monitor the forest. All the team members are required to take exams after finishing the course, and those who pass the exams will be awarded a certificate.

JILIN, October 12, China daily -- The National Felidae Center in China confirmed on October 9 that the suspected tiger footprint and fur found in the past week (September 23 to 30) in the area of the Zhangjiadian Forestry Farm, managed by Tianqiaoling Forestry Bureau of Jilin province, belong to two adult wild Siberian tigers.

The latest discovery was the eighth time that Siberian tigers have been found in the area since May, 2015.
