INNER MONGOLIA, July 27 -- Mr. Zhang Jianlong, Administrator of State Forestry Administration of China met with Ms. Monique Barbut, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Inner Mongolia on 27 July 2015, to discuss further cooperation on combating desertification.

GABORONE, July 15, Xinhua -- The Chinese government and Botswana Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism on Tuesday jointly announced here a donation of 1.7 million U.S dollars worth of goods from the Chinese government for wildlife protection.

The donation follows China's another sponsorship to Botswana for relocating 500 animals including 400 wildebeest and 100 eland in to Central Kalahari Game Reserve located in central Botswana.

BEIJING, July 18 -- The second conference of the intergovernmental panel for follow-upactions of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) was held in Beijing on July 16. More than 30 representatives from 26 countries and regions attended the three-day meeting, which focused on the goal of achieving a zero increase in land degradation set at the Rio+20 conference. Zhang Yongli, deputy administrator of the State Forestry Administration, and Monique Barbut, executive secretary  of the secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, attended and spoke at the conference.

HANGZHOU, July 7 –  A training course for endangered wild animal and plant protection officials from Asian countries was held at the National Bamboo Research Center in Hangzhou on June 26. The training course was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the bamboo research center and the Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office.

SHANGHAI, May 22 – A European Union delegation on the implementation of international conventions visited Shanghai on May 11. Wang Xiling, director of the Shanghai branch of the Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office, met the delegation, and officials from the national office and Shanghai forestry bureau were present during the meeting.
